QB.Fire upset Gambit; earn second win

Quantum Bellator Fire defeated Gambit on Inferno, 19-16, and are now one win away from the ELEAGUE Major 2018 playoff.

The start of the CIS matchup, that took place on Inferno, was strongly contested by both teams. Quantum Bellator Fire took the CT pistol round and the next round, but, with their second force buy in a row, Gambit broke through the CT's defenses and got on the board.

After the score was tied 3-3, Quantum Bellator Fire assessed the situation correctly and stacked the B site in a disadvantageous position to win the round that got them back into the lead. Gambit tried to fight them with pace and a push throughapartmentss, but met an on point Nikita "⁠waterfaLLZ⁠" Matveyev who picked up a triple kill with the AWP, crippling the offensive. (6-3)

Gambit stopped Quantum Bellator Fire's four-round win streak with a force buy that ended up on B, and went to make the score 7-6 before waterfaLLZ showed up with some more key kills to end the half 9-6 for his team.

The second half started well for the reigning Major champions Gambit, who locked down B on the pistol and secured following rounds to quickly equalize the scoreline at 9-9. Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov was topping the board for his side, who went on to win five rounds straight before a double-fake by Quantum Bellator Fire and Gregory "⁠balblna⁠" Oleinick's lurk kills earned the Russian side their first T round. 

After losing a round, Quantum Bellator Fire went for a similar arch-based strategy, won that round and put the pressure on Gambit whose bank was broken. As Aurimas "⁠Kvik⁠" Kvakšys and co. reached 15, Gambit tightened their defenses and, spearheaded by Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev, managed to tie it up and force overtime.

In the added rounds, Gambit continued their momentum, but only shortly, before Quantum Bellator Fire closed out the game by winning four round in the row.
