Luminosity beat Misfits, hold onto ECS spot

Luminosity have kept their spot in the Esports Championship Series (ECS) after defeating Misfits 3-0 in the promotion stage for the North American league.
The North American promotion stage kicked off with a best-of-five clash between Luminosity, last season's ninth-placed team, and Misfits, who had finished second in the Development League.
The series began on Train, Luminosity's map pick, where the Brazilians posted a close 16-12 victory thanks to a strong individual display from Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves, who posted a 1.97 Rating, helping to keep the Terrorists at bay in the second half after they had taken the lead.
Mirage was the map that followed, and here it was Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato's time to shine. After getting off on the wrong foot, losing five of the first six rounds, Misfits picked up the pace and brought the deficit to a minimum by the end of the half. The North American team then rallied back after losing the pistol round, but Luminosity regained control of the game and ran away with the lead.
The first half of Cache was a complete blowout, with Luminosity cruising to an 11-4 lead after giving Misfits very little room to operate on the attacking side. Sean "seang@res" Gares's men came out of the break a different side, winning five of the first six rounds of the half to bring the deficit to 9-12, but then the Brazilians' offence came to life and they picked up four straight rounds to seal a convincing 3-0 win.
